Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our farm, services, and beef share program
We have two locations. Our primary cattle operation is in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Galax, Virginia — over 400 acres of rolling pasture. Our micro farm is in Charlotte, North Carolina, where we base our NC-area services and firewood operation.
We raise Black Angus cattle. Angus is known for well-marbled, flavorful beef and the breed's ability to thrive on pasture in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The beef share concept lets multiple families go in on a whole cow together. Each family gets a share (typically a quarter or half) of quality, locally-raised Black Angus beef — cut, wrapped, and ready for your freezer. We're currently gauging interest, so sign up on our Beef Share page to be notified when we're ready.
We work with USDA-inspected processors. You can specify your cut preferences (steaks, roasts, ground beef ratios, etc.) and we coordinate the schedule. Pickup is available in either Galax, VA or Charlotte, NC.
