The Heart of the Operation

Black Angus in the Blue Ridge

Our Virginia farm sits in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside Galax. What started as a dairy farm purchased by Billy Frost in the 1970s has grown into a 400+ acre Black Angus cattle operation built on decades of hard work and smart land stewardship.

The cattle are raised on grass with room to roam. We believe in quality over quantity — healthy animals, well-managed pasture, and a sustainable approach to beef production that respects the land we work on.

Our Story

A Young Man, a Dream, and a Dairy Farm

In the 1970s, Billy Frost — a young man with a vision and the drive to back it up — took out a loan and bought a dairy farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains outside Galax, Virginia. It was a bet on hard work, and it paid off.

Over the decades, the operation grew. As opportunities came along, more land was acquired — piece by piece, always earned, never handed over. Every acre was worked, improved, and built into what the farm is today: over 400 acres of Virginia mountain ground.

Eventually the dairy gave way to beef cattle, and the focus shifted to raising Black Angus. That transition carries on today — the same land, the same work ethic, and a family that hasn't stopped building on what Billy started more than 50 years ago.

The Land

Mountain Pasture, Year-Round

The property spans multiple fields across the Blue Ridge Mountains — rolling terrain with natural water sources, tree lines for shade, and the kind of grass that mountain elevation and Virginia rainfall provide naturally.

We practice rotational management to keep the pasture healthy and the soil productive. The land feeds the herd, and we take care of the land.

More Than Cattle

The Virginia farm isn't just cattle. We keep donkeys as herd guardians — they're protective, alert, and a proven deterrent to predators in the Blue Ridge. Heritage turkeys round out the operation, and the land itself supports firewood harvesting and agricultural services.

Everything works together. The cattle, the land management, the services — it's a working farm in every sense.
